幸福 Xing Fu (2023 – Remixed and Remastered)
Xing Fu (Happiness) is the critically acclaimed 2005 Chinese EP written and produced by SIRIS. The album has been remixed and remastered for this special 2023 re-release.
The original album was never officially released digitally in the US. The new version enhances the sonic quality of the original. Fans will find some refreshing additions that were not available on the original CD.
In addition to the hit single “Xing Fu”, the album features the Chinese cover of the Genesis hit song “Follow You Follow Me”. It also includes the emotional ballad “Loving You As In The Past” which was reworked and enhanced with brand new backing vocals and strings. The same treatment was given to the popular single “Beautiful Angel”.
All of the songs were re-drummed by Patrick Maley, injecting new life to the earlier recordings. Michael Maley also re-recorded the bass on all of the tracks except for Beautiful Angel.
Perhaps the most upbeat song on the album is a cover of the classic Teresa Teng hit “The Moon Represents My Heart”. SIRIS re-imagines this hit song, turning it into an uptempo 60’s pop/rock tribute. Doug Bossi added slick new guitars to this spiced up version. In the end, SIRIS takes a classic love ballad and turns it into a 60’s rock song, somehow making it sound familiar but new.
The album also features Tim Kraus on piano in the title track Xing Fu.
Due to Xing Fu’s popularity in the Chinese market in 2005, SIRIS felt it was important to remix and remaster the album as they approach the 20th anniversary of the original CD release. The new digital version was released on September 18th 2023 and is available on all streaming platforms.
